VASCO: A sub-inspector of the railway police force (RPF) in Vasco found a loaded country made pistol in an abandoned bag in the Goa Express train that arrived in Goa from Delhi early Saturday morning.
A Vasco railway police source said, “the pistol has been seized and the South Goa district magistrate has been intimated of the same.”
At about 7.30am on Saturday morning, when RPF sub-inspector Paras Ram Singh Meena, was checking the train compartments as Vasco is the last stop, he found an abandoned black and red coloured bag under a seat in the general compartment.
The bag was then brought to the police station and thoroughly checked. They found a silver colour country-made pistol with six live rounds loaded in the magazine and another four live rounds kept in the bag. A long sleeve-shirt and two long pants were also found in the abandoned bag.
As the owner of the pistol has not been identified, police said the motive will be revealed only when the person is caught.
Vasco railway police have registered the case under Section 3 r/w 25 of the Arms Act.
