Hyderabad’s ongoing metro rail project, which is taken up by L&T, has chosen Otis Elevator company for its around Rs 400 crore elevator and escalator work.
“As of now we are well within our time frame of executing the project ahead of schedule. We have accomplished placing all major equipment contracts as per schedule,” said V B Gadgil, chief executive and managing director of L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad.
On Tuesday, the company said it has signed a letter of award with Sebi Joseph, managing director, Otis Elevator (India). These heavy duty elevators and escalators will be fabricated at Otis factories in China – Guangzhou Otis Elevator (Escalators) and Otis Elevator (China) (Lifts).
While the installation will be done by its Indian arm, it will also maintain the lifts and escalators.
