Lucknow (LKO): The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) – SPV to execute metro project in Lucknow started its functioning from a new administrative building located at Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar on Monday.
LMRC’s exiting office at Janpath, Hazratganj, had become quite congested as the team of engineers and staff had grown over the past few months. Keeping in view the strict time-frame in which LMRC is planning to deliver the project in an efficient and organised manner, the Government of Uttar Pradesh allotted them a new administrative building located at Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar.
Metro officials said, “LMRC’s new office is a well-planned building situated at a prime location in Gomti Nagar with the provision of all modern office amenities including wi-fi facility and security arrangements. It is an aesthetically beautiful building cladded with sandstone with marvellous finishing both from inside and outside.”
Unlike a government set-up, LMRC’s new office is designed with glass and modular furnitures to give it a corporate look. It is a four-storey building that will be connected with a transparent glass lift at the entrance. Each floor has four blocks, which have been designed to accommodate requirements of different departments. LMRC officers and staff entered the new building and started functioning in the afternoon after getting green signal from the chief secretary.
Currently the left-side traffic going towards Kanpur (airport route) is being diverted on the right side of the road at Transport Nagar on about 400 metre stretch between 11 pm to 6 am every night. LMRC said that the diversion of traffic will continue for next 8 months because of the construction work. Although problems of slow traffic movement and congestion is expected to reduce beyond Shaheed Path turn due to diversion of heavy vehicles via Shaheed path to enter city.
