This garden is a very very special project for us as exactly one year ago on the occasion of income tax day 2017 we had launched a green plastic campaign from our office at Rishi Nagar by starting the work of making first vertical garden by using waste plastic bottles. Ever since that day there has been no looking back and one after another our green team has successfully installed such gardens at several locations in Ludhiana as well as other parts of the state. This green plastic project was started with the motive of giving something back to the society and nothing could have been better than solving one of the biggest problem of disposing off the hazardous plastic waste and along with it growing beautiful plants to spread green cover which is depleting everywhere. We are happy to get such level of cooperation from the Railways to install vertical garden at Ludhiana railway station and we are hopeful that through Indian railways which is biggest carrier in the world this project will grow by leaps and bounds”
According to Vivek Kumar, DRM Ferozepur, “This is a wonderful project and we are thankful to the IT officials for their suggestion and endeavor to make it possible on Ludhiana railway station. We will ensure that along with taking proper care and maintenance of the vertical garden at Ludhiana railway station we will also replicate this project at other stations and sites to spread greenery as far as possible.”
Under the green plastic initiative so far 2.50 lakhs of waste plastic bottles have been used to plant equal number of plants in different parts of Punjab.
