MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has today unveiled the Rolling Stock (Coaches) model for Mumbai Metro line 3 in presence of Mrs. Ashwini Bhinde, Managing Director and other senior officials of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation. This line will be called Aqua line and the exterior & interior of the trains suits the theme.
MMRC will procure total 31 trains of eight coaches to be manufactured by Joint Venture of Alstom India and Alstom SA under the “Make in India” initiative at Alstom’s facility located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.
The MMRC (Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation) has awarded the contract for designing and manufacturing of rolling stock to Alstom Transport India Limited. The design is inspired by the vital flow of water, as the sea captures a special place in the city. This line will offer a fast, efficient and sustainable mode of travel for the citizens of Mumbai.
The Aqua green colour of Mumbai Metro line 3 rolling stock represents water & the sea waves which are an integral part of Mumbai & further signifies the freshness and speed of the waves as well as of this city which never sleeps and is always on move. The soothing beige color signifies comfort.
