Mega block on Central Railway tomorrow – diversion of trains likely in Mumbai

Mumbai:  Central Railway will carry out a mega block in its suburban sections for maintenance work Sunday. Up slow line services leaving Ghatkopar from 11.07 am to 3.27 pm will be diverted on Up fast line between Vidyavihar and Byculla, halting at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar and Parel stations and will be re-diverted on Up slow line (proper) at Byculla.

All Down fast line services leaving CST from 10.08 am to 2.40 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts.

To purchase 500 more buses under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNRUM) grant for 2013-14, the BEST undertaking will prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR). It has appointed ICRA Management Consulting Services to prepare the DPR for a cost of around

Rs 19 lakh. The DPR will include details of city bus services, operational plan, financing arrangement, operation and maintenance and sustainability analysis for BEST.

Escalator opened at Kalyan Railway Station

An escalator at Kalyan station was inaugurated Friday by Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. Two more escalators will be commissioned by October-end, one each at Kalyan and Dombivali. An escalator at Vikroli station and two at Dadar station are also in the pipeline. The Kalyan station deals with over two lakh passengers daily.
