Pune: Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN), a Centralized Training Institute of Indian Railways, will be celebrating its 59th IRICEN day on 8thNov 2016. The formal function will be presided by Chief Guest Shri A. K. Mittal, Member (Engineering), Railway Board. The General Manager, Central Railway Shri Akhil Agarwal and many other dignitaries from Indian Railways will grace this occasion.
The IRICEN imparts, 1½ year long, rigorous training to the IRSE (Indian Railway Service of Engineers) officers recruited by UPSC. The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), has also recognized this rigorous training given to IRSE officers training for grant of Maters degree (M.Tech.).
The IRICEN, located in an environment friendly Platinum rated green building having feature to save energy, water and others causing adverse effect on environment, had during 2015-16 conducted 151 courses to train 3,275 trainees (about 80% increase over previous year).
On this occasion a seminar on the subject of“Introduction of semi High Speed o Indian Railways – Challenges and Innovations”,“Challenges involved & innovations required for elimination of Level Crossings”, &“Management of last milestones for early commissioning of Railway projects” is also being organized. The thoughts presented during seminar will guide Indian Railways in years to come.
During function, Silver Jubilee (1990) batch officers of Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) cadre, who are completing 25 years of service in Indian Railways, will be felicitated. A number of Trophies and Medals will also be awarded to officers, who have excelled in various Training courses held during past one year.
