Mumbai: The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has received a huge response from national and international companies to construct 33.5-km-long Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro-III corridor.
All the consortiums that filed 31 bids include Afcons Infrastructure Limited Kyivmetrobud, Continental Engineering Corporation/ ITD Cementation India Limited Tata Projects Ltd, DOGUS/SOMA, IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited, China Railway 25th Bureau Group Company Limited, J. Kumar Infraprojects Limited, China Railway No.3 Engineering Group Company, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Company Limited, OSJC Moscow Metrostroy/Hindustan Construction Company Limited, Pratibha Industries Limited, Guandong Yuantian Engineering Company, Unity Infraprojects Limited, IVRCL Limited, China Railway Tunnel Group Company Limited.
“The response shown is very encouraging, the response also indicates the kind of confidence bidders have in the government and its agency. The Metro-3 corridor will certainly reduce the congestion in the suburban railway and avoid unfortunate loss of life due to congestion. It is high time we respected human life.” said Ashwini Bhide, MD, MMRC.
