Modi to dedicate 79-km long Koderma-Hazaribagh Railway Section to the Nation shortly

Hazaribagh (HZD): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the much-awaited Hazaribagh rail project this month, said senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha after reviewing the ongoing preparations at Hazaribagh Railway Station. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and other ministers from both Centre and State will remain present on the inaugural day.

Although the date of inauguration is not fixed, but we are hoping that after elections in Delhi, the PMO will give its approval and the date of inauguration of railway service to Hazaribagh, Sinha added. He hoped that from February 2015, Hazaribagh will get connected with other parts of the country by rail track. Railway facility to Hazaribagh was the dream project of former Minister Yashwant Sinha.

In 1991, when he was a minister in Chandrashekhar Government, he had promised the citizens of Hazaribagh to connect the district headquarters with rail network. It took 24 years and after several hindrances the Koderma-Hazaribagh rail line is ready to carry both passengers and goods. A year ago, first time a trial run of railway engine was done by the railway department on this 79-km long track between Koderma and Hazaribagh.

From the last one year, all the necessary arrangements are being done and finally in December 2014 the Railway Safety Commissioner gave his final report after inspecting and enquiring it from each angle. Now, the denizens of Hazaribagh are eagerly waiting for the historical day when PM Modi, Railway Minister Prabhu and others will flag off the first train from Hazaribagh to Koderma junction. Meanwhile, the local administration has also added colours of local flavour in the station premises. The walls of station premises have been painted with the famous Sohrai art of Hazaribagh.
