More coaches in 19 ECR trains from May 20

PATNA: East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to increase the number of coaches in 19 long-distance mail and express trains from May 20 onwards to cope with the rush of passengers during summer.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting presided over by ECR GM Madhuresh Kumar. The meeting was attended by officials of all the five divisions of the zone.

According to ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Amitabh Prabhakar, the increase in the number of coaches in these trains will continue even after the summer vacation so that more passengers could benefit.

The Patna-Jammu Tavi Archana Express, which has currently the load combination of 23 coaches, will now run with 24 coaches while Patna-Ajmer Ziyarat Express will run with 22 coaches. The Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Lokmanya Tilak Express will now run with 23 coaches and the Rajgir-New Delhi Shramjeevi Express with 24 coaches instead of 23 coaches.

The Danapur-Howrah Express will have 24 instead of 23 coaches and the Danapur-Durg South Bihar Express will now run with 24 coaches instead of 22. The number of coaches in the Dhanbad-Ferozabad Ganga Sutlej Express will go up from 19 to 20 while the Patna-Dhanbad Ganga Damodar Express will get two more coaches that will up its load combination to 18. The Bhagalpur-Delhi Garib Rath will now run with 20 coaches now while the Muzaffarpur-Howrah Jansadharan Express will have 22 coaches instead of 18.

The Darbhanga-Delhi Swatantrata Senani Express will now run with 24 coaches instead of 23. The Raxaul-Delhi Satyagraha Express will run with 21 coaches and the Saharsa-Delhi Poorabiya Express with 24 coaches instead of 20. The Barauni-Ernakulam Rapti Sagar Express will now run with the load combination of 24 coaches.

The Barauni-Lucknow Express, currently running with the load combination of 14 coaches, will now run with 19 coaches and the Jayanagar-Saharsa Janki Express with 15 coaches instead of nine. The Saharsa-Patna Rajya Rani Express will run with 19 coaches instead of 17 while the Darbhanga-Lokmanya Tilak Karambhoomi Express will run with 24 coaches instead of 22, CPRO Prabhakar said.
