BENGALURU: In an effort to “connect” with the general public, using the Railways for their travel on a regular basis, newly appointed Minister of State (MoS) for Railways Suresh Angadi on Monday night travelled by the Rani Chennamma express from Hubbali to Bengaluru, to attend a party function organised on Wednesday morning at Palace grounds.
Soon after reaching Bengaluru, Angadi tweeted of his sojourn on the train and even said he will be working towards improving the facilities in the train.
“Today I travelled from Hubli to Bangalore in Rani Chennamma Express. Spoke with fellow passengers and discussed various issues faced by them during the journey. I will work hard with my team to get all the issues fixed at the earliest. #Hubli #RanichennammaExpress @SWRRLY,” he said in his tweet.
Later, speaking to the media, Angadi said he has tried to understand the problems of the commuters and thus traveled in the general compartment.
Earlier, in Hubbali, the minister also visited the catering services centre and the kitchen at the South Western Railways headquarters and look into the quality of food being served.
