Nagpur Railway Institute’s Secretary suspended for large scale irregularities

NAGPUR: Cracking the whip on large-scale irregularities in Central Railway Institute at Guard Line, the administration on Tuesday suspended chief office superintendent (COS) and secretary RC Shankhwar. Despite a two-member committee consisting of then divisional personnel officer (DPO) N D Gangurde and Divisional Finance Manager (DFM) Ramesh Kumar having submitted a report way back in 2011 pointing out irregularities, no action was taken against office-bearers.

Earlier, DRM Brijesh Dixit ordered for sealing of the institute and appointed administrators. DRM is the patron of the institute. On September 20, treasurer FJ Frank was suspended. On Tuesday one Mr.Shankhwar was also suspended. Shankhwar had denied the allegations but had admitted that probe was ordered because institute elections were not held as scheduled in 2009.

He also said that the committee report had no substance. The report was submitted in 2011 but action has been taken when 10 days were left for the committee’s term to expire. Shankhwar has already been issued a major penalty chargesheet in December 2012.

When contacted, PRO P.D.Patil confirmed Shankhwar’s suspension owing to irregularities in the institute.
