Union minister of state for railways K Suryaprakash Reddy said survey work for the railway track between Nalgonda and Macherla in Guntur district has been completed.
Visiting Nalgonda district Saturday to inspect progress of the work, he recollected that `410 crore has been sanctioned by the Union government to establish this rail link between Nalgonda and Macherla.
Work on the rail link from Mellacheruvu to Vishnupuram via Jaggayyapeta is also in progress, he said.
The minister said the construction of the railway track between Gadwal and Raichur too has been completed and trains will run on it from April.
Works on the railway tracks between Gadwal and Thirumalagiri village in Haliya mandal will begin soon.
The people of Chityala and Narketpally gave representations to the minister to halt all express trains at Chityala railway station.
Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy, Nalgonda MP Gutta Sukhendhar Reddy and others participated.
