Neral-Matheran rail services suspended due to monsoon

मुम्बई Mumbai: The Central Railway has decided to suspend the services between Neral and Matheran with immediate effect as the monsoon has set in.

A CR spokesperson said, “Though we are suspending the services between Neral and Matheran, shuttle services between Matheran and Aman Lodge will continue to run as per scheduled timetable (which has been published and in force with effect from July 2013).”

The re-opening of the section for running of services between Neral and Matheran will be notified later, he stated.

Matheran is a hill station in Karjat tahsil and is also the smallest hill station in India. It is located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 800m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is located around 90km from Mumbai and 120km from Pune.
