Guwahati (GWH): Pranav Jyoti Sharma, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) 2000 batch, has taken over as the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) today.

He succeeds Sugato Lahiri, who has been posted as the Chief Rolling Stock Engineer, NFR at Maligaon, said an official statement. A graduate in Civil Engineering from NIT Rourkela, Sharma joined the Indian Railways in 2002 and has worked in several field units as well as headquarters in the NFR.

Till recently he was the Deputy Chief Engineer, Construction, North Lakhimpur, in which capacity he was responsible for commissioning of new rail line up to Naharlagun which brought Arunachal Pradesh into the Broad Gauge railway map of India and connected Itanagar to the railway network. He was also involved in the gauge conversion work from Rangapara North up to North Lakhimpur.
