NTES leaves passengers’ stranded at Railway Stations

Trikaripur: The Indian Railways’ real-time train tracking mobile application, National Train Enquiry System, is allegedly giving out misinformation leaving many passengers who relied on the app stranded at train stations.

On Tuesday, the app showed that Malabar Express via Mangaluru, was running late by 30 minutes. But the train was on time and the passengers who believed the app missed the train. On another occasion, the application falsely showed that Mangaluru-Chennai Express and Kannur Passenger train have not begun their journey from the origin station while both trains were keeping time.

The app launched in 2014 by CRIS, features information on expected arrival and departure timings of a particular train and its real-time position.
