VISAKHAPATNAM: Extensive damage to the railway tracks between Yelamanchili and Narsingapalli railway stations on the Vijayawada division of South Central Railway has forced the Railways to cancel or divert more than 50 trains that were scheduled to pass through Visakhapatnam railway station on the Chennai-Howrah main railway line on Sunday.
The Waltair division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) announced that 12728 Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Godavari Express scheduled to leave Hyderabad at 5.15 pm on Sunday was cancelled.
Similarly, 12740 Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Garibrath Express, 12704 Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express, 07128 Hyderabad-Shalimar Special Express, 57225 Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Passenger, 67295 Rajahmundry – Visakhapatnam Passenger, 67296 Visakhapatnam – Rajahmundry Passenger, 57256 Visakhapatnam – Kakinada Port Passenger,57255 Kakinada Port – Visakhapatnam Passenger, 18510 Nanded-Visakhapatnam Express, 17487 Tirupati-Visakhapatnam Tirumala Express, 11019 Mumbai CST – Bhubaneswar Konark Express,18495 Rameswaram – Bhubaneswar Express,12841 Howrah – Chennai Coromandel Express, 22855 Santragachi – Tirupati Express, 12867 Howrah -Puducherry Express, 16324 Shalimar-Thiruvananthapuram Express, 02863 Shalimar- Yeswantpur Special, 22605 Purulia -Villupuram Express, 12840 Chennai Central – Howrah Mail, 12840 Chennai Central – Howrah Mail, 12842 Chennai Central – Howrah Coromandel Express, Chennai Central – Howrah Coromandel Express and 12659 Nagercoil – Shalimar Gurudev Express were cancelled.
However, 12727 Visakhapatnam – Hyderabad Godavari Express which was scheduled to depart Visakhapatnam at 5.25 pm on Sunday and 12739 Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad Garibrath Express which was scheduled to depart Visakhapatnam at 8.20 pm on Sunday were partially cancelled between Visakhapatnam and Tuni railway stations. These two trains will originate from Tuni and will run to its scheduled timings to Secunderabad.
17488 Visakhapatnam – Tirupati Tirumala Express which was scheduled to depart Visakhapatnam at 2 pm on Sunday, was partially cancelled between Visakhapatnam and Rajahmundry. This train will originate from Rajahmundry and will run to its scheduled timings to Tirupati.
17015 Bhubaneswar – Secunderabad Visakha Express which was scheduled to depart at 8.35 am on Sunday was partially cancelled between Bhubaneswar and Rajahmundry. This train will originate from Rajahmundry and will run to its scheduled timings to Secunderabad.
12805 Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad Janmabhoomi Express which was scheduled to depart Visakhapatnam at 6.15 am on Sunday was partially cancelled between Visakhapatnam and Guntur. This train will originate from Guntur and will run to its schedule timings to Secunderabad.
12717 Visakhapatnam – Vijayawada Ratnachal Express which was scheduled to depart Visakhapatnam at 12.40 pm on Sunday was partially cancelled between Visakhapatnam and Rajahmundry. This train will originate from Rajahmundry and will run to its schedule timings to Vijayawada.
The railways diverted some trains on Sunday. They include 17480 Tirupati-Puri Express which left Tirupati at 10.35 am on Saturday was brought back to Vijayawada and diverted to run via Warangal, Ballarshah and Nagpur. Similarly, 18310 Nanded-Sambalpur Nagavalli Express which left Nanded, 13352 Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express, 18464 Bangalore-Bhubaneswar Prasanti Express, 02551 Yesvantpur-Kamakhya Special and 16323 Trivandrum Central-Shalimar Express were diverted via Vijayawada, Warangal, Ballarshah, Nagpur, Jharsuguda.
18646 Hyderabad – Howrah East Coast Express and 12513 Secunderabad – Guwahati Express were diverted to run via Kazipet, Balharshah, Nagpur, Tatanagar, Kharagpur.
12703 Howrah – Secunderabad Falaknuma Express, 18645 Howrah- Hyderabad East Coast Express, 15902 Dibrugarh- Yeswantpur Express, 12863 Howrah-Yesvantpur Express, 12839 Howrah-Chennai Mail, 12510 Guwahati-Bangalore Express and 12703 Howrah-Secundrabad Falaknuma Express were diverted via Jharsuguda- Bilaspur- Nagpur-Ballarsha.
