President of India presents Florence Nightingale Award to Uma Nagendramani, Chief Matron of S.C.Railway

New Delhi: Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble President of India presented the coveted Florence Nightingale Award to Smt M Umanagendramani, Chief Matron of South Central Railway at a glittering award function held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi on 12th May, 2015. The award carries a cash award of Rs.50000/-, a Certificate, a Citation Certificate and a Medal. The Florence Nightingale awards are given to the outstanding nursing personnel employed in Central, State/UTs etc.

Smt M Umanagendramani joined the noble profession of Nursing in the Medical Wing of South Central Railway in the year 1983. Starting as an auxiliary mid-wife, she rose to the rank of Chief Matron at present on the strength of three decades of nursing service.

Shri P.K.Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway expressed his happiness that a member of SCR  has been recognised with the coveted award of service and conveyed his appreciation for the achievement.
