MUMBAI: There will be megablock on Central Railway (Main and Harbour lines) this Sunday and trains may run 15 minutes behind schedule. There will, however, be no day block on the Western Railway.
A CR official said the rail block will be on Up and Down Harbour line between Kurla and Mankhurd stations from 11 am to 3pm on Sunday. The Up & Dn Harbour line services will remain suspended between Mankhurd and Kurla during block period, thereby inconveniencing passengers from Navi Mumbai.
However special trains will run on CST- Kurla and Mankhurd – Panvel sections during the block period.
There will also be a megablock on Up fast line between Kalyan and Thane stations from 10.30am to 3.30pm on Sunday. Trains could run 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule, officials said. Due to these blocks, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual. Passengers are requested not to take any risks while travelling, they said. “Passengers are also requested to avoid travelling on foot board, roof top of locals and not to board extremely over crowded trains,” the officials added.
