Railways to Convert 67.2 km Long Rail Tracks in Raipur Division of SECR into Broad Gauge under second material modification to Raipur-Titlagarh rail line doubling.
NEW DELHI: Railway Ministry has proposed to convert 67.2 KM. long rail tracks into broad gauge line in Chhattisgarh.
This conversion is going to take place at an estimated cost of Rs.544 crores.
Railway ministry has sanctioned this work on request firm Chief Minister Of Chhattisgarh Dr.Raman Singh himself.
Dr. Singh had, during his meetings with Rail Minister had requested to convert Kendri-Dhamtari and Abhanpur-Rajim rail tracks into broad gauge lines.
The General Manager of South East Central Railway has sanctioned this project under second material modification to Raipur-Titlagarh rail line doubling.
A break up of the estimated cost has been provided with the order sanctioning this work According to it, civil engineering work would be completed at a cost of Rs. 436.40 crore, while work related to electrical engineering will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 66.25 crores. All S&T work is proposed to be completed at another Rs. 41.28 crore.
This project, when complete, is expected to benefit the people of Dhamtari, Raipur and Gariyaband districts and will also help in overall development of these districts.
