The DRUCC members presented various problems concerning the difficulties of the railway passengers coming under the East Coast Zone from Palasha to Bhadrak. Major demands like construction of railway line from Khurda to Bolangir, opening of new counters, halting of
various trains at various stations as per people’s demands, providing drinking water facilities to the passengers inside trains and opening up of medicine counters at the railway stations, among others, were discussed. This year also the railway loading in the ECoR Zone is going to be further burdened by another 20 per cent, he said. The Railway is facing difficulties in land acquisition owing to court cases. Efforts are on to maintain a high degree of cleanliness in the railway station, he added. The DRM declared that the intoning of the signal system will be provided soon which will hasten up the speed, progress and movement of the ECoR.
