Railway cell to help expedite MTP projects

MUMBAI: The deputation of railway authorities by the state in the newly formed railway cell, which is a part of the transport department, is likely to help expedite the Metropolitan Transport Projects (MTP) rail projects.

V.A. Malegaonkar, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway (CR) has been deputed as officer on special duty to coordinate between the state and railways.

The projects likely to be expedited include Wardha-Yavatmal Nanded railway line; Ahmedanagar- Beed- ParliVaijnath railway line; Belapur Seawoods-Uran project, Pune–Nashik and Dhule-Indore lines.

“This initiative has been taken by the chief minister and the ministry of railways for better coordination and to expedite these projects,” said a railway official.
