Railway conducts joint exercise with NDRF

Vadodara:  The Vadodara division of Western Railway on Tuesday conducted an interactive session with 6th Battalion of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Gandhinagar to discuss their respective preparedness for disaster management and understanding each others capabilities for disaster preparedness.

During this interaction, the Vadodara division presented its disaster management plan while NDRF presented its varied capabilities to handle different types of disasters. While addressing the coordination meeting, Vadodara division’s divisional railway manager Naveen Kumar Shukla appreciated the efforts and emphasis on the need to have such coordination on regular basis.

Shukla stressed that preparedness and regular joint exercise to check the alertness and response time is of utmost importance.

The interactive session was followed by practical mock exercise to demonstrate the utility of golden hour in treating injured persons and preparedness for relief and rescue operation during railway disasters.

During the mock exercise in which self propelled medical relief van and accident relief train were used, railway employees and 6th battalion of NDRF, participated for the demonstration.
