Gelatin sticks found on Secunderabad–Wadi line, near Mogala tanda
मलखैड रोड Malkhaid Road (MQR): An alert Railway keyman foiled an attempt by a group of persons to blow up a section of the Secunderabad–Wadi railway track, near Mogala tanda, in Chittapur taluk of the district on Saturday. According to reports reaching the district headquarters, the keyman, Tuljaram, saw four persons on the track who were behaving suspiciously, and questioned them. The four were conversing in Marathi and Urdu among themselves, but answered the keyman in Telugu, saying that they were just moving around the track.
According to Mr. Tuljaram, they asked him about the arrival time of a Hyderabad passenger train. When Mr. Tuljaram became suspicious and asked them why they wanted information on trains, they allegedly assaulted him and ran away.
Later, Mr. Tuljaram found gelatin sticks on the track and informed his higher-ups. Senior officials of the South Central Railway and police officers rushed to the spot and removed the gelatin sticks. Inspector-General of Police Suresh Kunni Mohammad and other senior police officials spoke to Mr. Tuljaram and the public.
Earlier, on information provided by the public, Railway authorities and police removed gelatin sticks placed on a rail track, near Malkhed, in Sedam taluk of the district. The bomb disposal squad from Bangalore is expected to visit the two spots where the gelatin sticks were found.
