Rourkela (ROU): The much-awaited Rourkela-Sambalpur DMU train was flagged off by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu through videoconferencing from Hati on Sunday at 11 am. In reciprocation at the railway station, Chakradharpur DRM Rajendra Prasad, Rourkela Station Manager AK Mishra, Rourkela MLA’s representative Dhiren Senapatii and other officials were present on the dais and flagged off the train.
As per sources, except Sunday the train (78103) will leave Rourkela Station at 7.25 am and reach Sambalpur at 10.55 am. At 11.40 am it (78104) will leave Sambalpur and reach Rourkela at 4.05 pm. Officially, the train would start operation from Monday, said the sources. With the running of this train, people from Rourkela will get another good connectivity to Balangir as they can catch the Bhubaneswar-Balangir Intercity at Sambalpur.
