रांची Ranchi (RNC): Urban Development Minister flagged off weekly Ranchi-New Jalpaiguri express train from Ranchi Railway station on Thursday. During the flagging off ceremony he informed that Chief Minister (CM) Raghubar Das wanted regular service of three express trains in Jharkhand. Das has written a letter to Ministry of Railways for daily service of Hatia-Yashwantpur express, Ranchi-Trivandrum and Ranchi-Dehradun trains, Singh said.
The CM also informed that the CM has requested the Ministry of Railways to begin daily up-down service of the three mentioned trains as they cover important routes. The state government has high hopes from the upcoming Railway Budget benefitting Jharkhand, he added. Few days back the Urban Development Minister has unveiled passenger train from Ranchi to Rourkela. “The newly launched weekly train Ranchi-New Jalpaiguri will cover prominent routes of Bihar and West Bengal,” Ranchi Divisional Railway Manager Deepak Kashyap said.
For the passengers who boarded the train, it was a dream turning true. A young Sales Executive said earlier there was one train for the same route. It was Ranchi-Alipurduar express. But, now there are two trains which had provided convenience for passengers like who have to travel Siliguri frequently. Singh flagged off the train at the state capital but at the Railway Ministry level it was officially unveiled by Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu along with three more trains and extending the service of a train.
It included Santragachi-Jhargram MEMU (five days a week), Bhavnagar-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Link Express (Weekly), Anuppur-Ambikapur MEMU (six days a week) as well as extension of Jhajha-Patna MEMU to Jasidih. Both Centre and State Government have assured of introducing modes of security for the passengers including women and men.
After the conclusion of the ceremony, 30 licensed Coolies of Ranchi Station met Urban Development Minister CP Singh and urged for medical and residential benefits. Singh has assured to fulfill the demands.
