New Delhi: The Ratan Tata-headed Kayakalp, a group constituted as per the Rail Budget, would meet for the second time on Tuesday to deliberate on the state of modernisation in the national transportation system. As per the agenda of the meeting, the Kayakalp would brainstorm on the state of railways and comparable rail systems across the world. The meeting is likely to make a comparison between the expansion of the Chinese railway system in the recent years, which has added a number of projects made operational recently on trans-national for transportation. The Kayakalp will also take stock of the current performance of the Indian railways in the context of social responsibility and consumer satisfaction. Railway minister Suresh Prabhu had asked all the zonal and divisional heads to connect with the passengers through the social media and solve their grievances. The first Kayakalp meeting was held in May.
“The agenda for the Tuesday meeting of the Kayakalp also includes vision on the adoption of modern technologies and bottlenecks on the performances. The meeting will also discuss the issue of the employee benefits, besides the vision on the traction,” sources said.
Besides Mr Tata, who is the chairman of the Kayakalp, Mr S.G.Mishra, Mr M Raghaviah and Ms Ragini Yechury are the members of the body, which was constituted with the task to give a vision for the total transformation of the Railways.
