SCRES urge Railways to drop proposal of shifting goods crew to Nallapadu

Nallapadu (NLPD), Guntur Division, SCR:  South Central Railway Employee Sangh divisional secretary B.K Visweswara Rao on Thursday appealed to Divisional Railway Manager, Guntur, N.K. Prasad to drop the proposal to shift the goods crew to Nallapadu since the isolated stretch between Guntur and Nallapadu would pose problems for loco personnel.

In a memorandum, Mr. Rao said that Nallapadu station was located at an isolated place and there were no basic facilities to stay.

The staff would find to difficult to reside in the area since it is located far away from the town.

New crew lobby

The railways has proposed to develop a new crew lobby to be developed at Nallapadu station to avoid pre-departure detention of goods trains starting from Nallapadu.

It takes about 50 minutes for fuelling of locos, attaching and formation release, and air pressure charging.

Parallel path

Mr. Rao proposed that a parallel path to the track could be laid along with Nallapadu level crossing to avoid the gate and reduce the delay.
