Terrorists Threaten To Blow Up Kashi Temples And Railway Stations

Uttar Pradesh Police has issued a statewide alert after the LeT threatened to blow up several stations as well as the Krishna Janmabhoomi and the Kashi Vishwanath temples in a letter by a commander group. In the holy Muslim month of Ramazan, where on one side by some of the intellectuals the demand to halt security operations and to announce unilateral ceasefire is raised so that Eid could be celebrated peacefully I want to ask such people, Do terror also stop in the holy month of Ramazan? Do their operations are also halted during any occasion? Do they turn into angels?  No! Not at all, in fact, they may get increased more. And the live example of this is Uttar Pradesh that is sensing the occurrence of an attack in the state in this holy month. The state is on high alert as it has received a letter from the Pakistan Based Terrorist Organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) threatening to launch out terror attacks in different parts of the state, including religious places and railway stations.

The letter was sent to the Divisional Railway Manager/Delhi Division of North Railway last month on May 29 was reportedly being signed by Maulana Ambu Sheikh, area commander of banner terror organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Jammu and Kashmir. The same terrorist organization is also blamed for carrying out 26/11 attacks.

According to reports, the letter threatens to carry out bomb blasts during June 6, 8 and 10 and the targets include Krishna Janmbhoomi in Mathura and Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. It also threatened to blow up the Saharanpur railway station, Hapur railway station and other stations as well.

Although the letter authenticity is yet to be verified Uttar Pradesh Police have sounded a high-alert taking precautionary measure. The police force has rolled up their sleeves. Massive security checks are underway in capital Lucknow to prevent any untoward incident.

In Mathura also the police have tightened security near the Banke Bihari Temple, Shri Krishna Janambhoomi and also at the railway station. The Police personals said, as per the inputs received from the intelligence agencies the security is already made stringent and officials are asked to be on their toe. They also told that time to time we are getting updates from the intelligence agencies and we are making additional security arrangements accordingly.

“The threat letter was received by DRM, Firozpur in which besides UP, the threat is also issued to Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan,” Additional director general of police (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said. ADG Anant Kumar has also assured the people that there is nothing to be afraid of, we are working toward solving the case and have issued alerts across the state as precautionary measures. The official also hinted that this could be a prank as intelligence agencies have no knowledge about any Ambu Shaikh LeT “ commander”. But still, it can’t be taken lightly
