Southern Railway holds meeting with Members of Parliament at Madurai

MADURAI: R.K. Kulshrestha, General Manager, Southern Railway had conducted a meeting with Hon’ble Members of Parliament belonging to both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha pertaining to  Madurai and Tiruchchirappalli divisions.  12 Hon’ble MPs from Tamil Nadu and one MP from Kerala took part in the meeting.  Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers of Madurai and Tiruchchirappalli divisions attended the meeting.

The General Manager, welcomed the dignitaries and appraised the MPs of several important works completed by Madurai and Tiruchchirappalli divisions and highlighted various works that have been targeted for completion and which have been proposed in the field of improving passenger amenities constituency-wise.

During the course of meeting Hon’ble Members of Parliament put forth their requirements both in terms of additional train services  as well additional stoppages. General Manager, mentioned that suggestions and views expressed by the Hon’ble Members of Parliament would be given due consideration.  Proposals which are beyond the powers of the Zone would be forwarded to Railway Board, he added.

The General Manager in response to the demands put forth by the Hon’ble MPs would be looked into and expedited.
