Swachh Neer drive at Vizianagaram, Good work done by RPF & Subhadravahini Team, Special Train to clear rush

VISAKHAPATNAM: In a mission to shoulder Social Responsibility in spreading Swachh Bharat- Swachh rail message, Waltair division of East Coast Railway is observing swachhta hi Sewa fortnight from 15th  September to 2nd  October 2018. It is our tribute to Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhiji on his 150th birth anniversary to fulfill his dream of swachh Bharat.

The division has organised various drives such as Swacch Samvad , Swachh awarensess,Swach stations, Seva Divas, Swachh Ahar etc and today Swachh Neer being organised over the Division. Intensive drives being organised by the division to check availability of safe drinking water to the passengers at railway stations as well as in trains. The checks will also be continued at offices and Railway Colonies to ensure safe drinking water to all. The drive at Vizianagaram was conducted under the guidance of Sr.DCM Shri G.Suneel Kumar.

At Vizianagaram station from 15th of September to till date the division has organized 8 various drives involving officials from headquarters as well as from the division. More than 28 officers participated in the cleanliness drive as well as awareness drive. 125 supervisors and staff took part in the noble mission at Vizianagaram railway station involving NGOs, civil defence, Scouts and Guides. Five members of NGOs shared shramdaan at Vizianagaram and nearby railway stations like Bobbili, Parvatipuram Cheepurupalli Gajapathinagaram etc.  Today intensive inspection carried out at stations as well as in trains to check the availability of sufficient water and safe water and also checks were organised along with health department for quality of water. During these drives   at Vizianagaram railway station and in trains at this station,  135 passengers gave their feedback,  in which most of the cases positive feedback was obtained from the passengers where is in two cases  shortage of water being noticed in trains which was attended  immediately.


Today at about 6:45 hours, the train  22826 Chennai-Shalimar express arrived Visakhapatnam on platform number 3. Fellow passengers of general coach of the train reported on duty RPF staff constable Pintu Kumar regarding a pregnant lady passenger suffering with pains. On receipt of information on duty shift officer ASI Shri PCM Rao along and lady constable S.Sunita attended the coach with prior information 108 ambulance. The Lady passenger disclosed her name and address as Usharani aged 32 years, wife of Santosh Kumar resident of Padmapur, Rayagada and presently residing at Nellore.  She is possessing train ticket from Nellore to Bhubaneswar. Due to some quarrel between the couple, her husband left her at Government Hospital, Nellore four days back and left her alone. Hence she decided to reach home to be with her parents who are residing at Bhubaneswar. But on observation of her health condition, Subhadravahini team accompanied her to admit in KGH hospital by 108 service where lady passenger delivered a baby girl. The issued is under investigation.


In order to clear extra rush of stranded passengers, Railways decided to operate one special train with NORMAL FARE between Santragachhi-Bengaluru via Visakhapatnam as per the following schedule:

The train No. 02502 Santragachhi-Bengaluru special train will leave on Santragachi 30.09.2018 (Sunday) at 01.05hrs which will arrive Visakhapatnam on the same at 15.30hrs and departure at15.50hrs and will reach Bengaluru on 01.10.2018( Monday) at 11.30hrs

Composition: Six AC-3tier LHB coaches, Ten Sleeper class LHB coaches, Two Generator-Motor car coaches

Stoppages: Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar,m Khurda Road, Berhampur, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Perambur, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Krishnarajapuram, Bangalore cantt.
