Hubli (UBL): The 34th Zonal Official Language Implementation Committee(ZOLIC) Meeting of South Western Railway was held at General Manager’s Office Conference Hall, Club Road, Hubli in the evening on 09th December, 2013. Vashishta Johri, Chief Mechanical Engineer, South Western Railway presided over the Meeting. Additional Divisional Railway Managers’ of all the three Divisions, Chief Workshop Managers’ of Hubli & Mysore, representatives of Construction Unit / Bangalore Cantt., Heads of the Departments of Headquarters, SWR were present in the Meeting.
While welcoming the officials for the meeting,Vice Chairman of ZOLIC,Omprakash Khare, Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari & Controller of Stores/SWR, stressed that the documents coming under Sec. 3(3) should be invariably issued in Hindi as well as in English ones and maximum of all the originating correspondence , Notingswhich arebeing done by the various departments of SWR should be in Hindi language.
After reviewing the reports, Vashishta Johri, Incharge Chairman, ZOLIC & Chief Mechanical Engineer, SWRsaidthat Hindiis our Official language and it is the duty of the Head of the Departments to ensure that the official language policy is being Implemented effectively in all the departments.He further stated that though overall progress is satisfactory in departments , Divisions , Workshops and in Construction Units,but certain aspects in Hindi have to be looked into and strengthened from time to time such as bilingualisation of Sec. 3(3) documents, reply letters in Hindi etc. Johri instructed all the Officers’ to include Official language aspects also in their routine inspections.
Earlier, Smt. C. Latha, Secretary, ZOLIC and Rajbhasha Adhikari/HQ/SWR/Hubli,presented Quarterly Report on the progressive Use of Hindi in Hubli, Bangalore & Mysore Divisions, Workshops of Hubli & Mysore and also from the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer/Construction / Bangalore Cantt. along with all the Heads of departments of Head Quarters Offices, SWR, Hubli.
The Meeting concluded with a Vote of thanks proposed by Sachin. R. Jain, Rajbhasha Adhikari/HQ/SWR, Hubli.
