SWR Women’s Welfare Organisation conducts Annual Award Function

HUBBALLI: South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (SWRWWO) conducted Annual Award Function on 29th April, 2017 at Railway Officer’s Club, Hubballi. Shri A.K. Gupta, General Manager of South Western Railway was the Chief Guest.

Merit Scholarship Certificates along with Cash Prizes amounting to Rs. 1,40,000/- were distributed to 68 Children of Railway Employees of both Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’, who have secured 85% & above in SSLC & 80% or more in other courses with 05% concession for the wards of Group ’D’ employees. Besides, Prizes were distributed to winners of Drawing, Painting and Essay writing competitions.

Congratulating the awardees, Shri A.K. Gupta said that the Award function is to recognize the talents of the meritorious children which will motivate more and more wards to achieve better results year after year. It will also help children to be more competitive and excel further. The South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organization has been playing a vital role by rendering selfless and dedicated services for the upliftment of Railway men and their families. The sphere of Organization’s activities is not restricted only to the welfare of Railway men and their families but it also extends to the common man in the society whenever situation arises.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Deepali Gupta, President of SWRWWO emphasized that more and more children should be trained & encouraged to participate in competitions to achieve the best results. Importance should be given to extracurricular activities also. This will indeed help them to boost their inner talent hidden in them. She stressed the need of cleanliness in school and surroundings and sought the cooperation of every one to fulfill the vision of our leaders in making our country clean & make “ Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan” a success.
