Texmaco Rail resumes operations at Belgharia Unit

texmaco belghariaBelgharia: Texmaco Rail & Engineering has informed the exchanges that its Steel Foundry Division at Belgharia in West Bengal has resumed normal work from Monday.

The operations at the unit were suspended on August 12 due to worker unrest, the company said in a regulatory filing to the exchanges. Shares of Texmaco Rail & Engineering tumbled 6.6 per cent at ₹110.1 on the BSE.

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited earlier this week announced that due to an unfortunate incident happened on 12 August, 2015 caused by an error of judgement on the part of a workman which later turned out to be fatal prompted some miscreants to go on a rampage, taking advantage of the situation, vandalizing the Steel Foundry Division’s property, causing loss and also disabling the normal working. Under the circumstances, the Management is unable to maintain the normal operations of the Steel Foundry Division and is left with no option but to suspend the operations of the Steel Foundry Division with effect from night shift of 12 August 2015 till further notice.
