Train services restored after 38 hours

मेहसी Mehsi (MAI): After 38 hours of derailment of goods trains allegedly by Maoists, train services on Muzaffarpur-Narkatiyaganj section of East Central Railway (ECR) were restored on Friday at 1.00 p.m. under the supervision of engineers and Samastipur ADRM B S Dohare.

On June 24 night, 18 wagons of a goods train were derailed in an explosion allegedly triggered by Maoists between Mehsi and Harpurnag stations near Manigachhi unmanned railway crossing.

This region is a Maoist-hit area and the extremists have always been making goods train their soft target. On May 20, 2010, 13 wagons of diesel and patrol derailed and went up in smoke one after another as the Maoists had blown up the rail track when the goods train was crossing between Pipra and Jiwdhara stations, some 18km Manichhapra accident site.
