Train services resumed in K-K Line, works done on War Footage, track restored

VISAKHAPATNAM: In view of suspected miscreant activities between Kamlur-Kirandul in Kottavalasa-Kirandul line, 58501 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger train was short terminated at Kamlur 08.08.2018. While returning empty rake of 58501 passenger train from Kamlur to Dantewada after cancellation of service, the train got derailed near Km 410/17-18 at about 23.10hrs of 08.08.2018 as track was uprooted by Miscreants near  bridge location. Locomotive and front trolley of General Second class got derailed. As the train was returning empty no causality or injury caused.

The onboard Crew and railway staff and others were evacuated through tower wagon from Dantewada. Accident Relief Train started from Koraput and reached site about 02.30hrs. Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical and other officials rushed to site. The restoration works commenced in the early hours. The entire works and trains movement are being monitored by General Manager Shri Umesh Singh, Divisional Railway Manager Shri Mukul Saran Mathur, Brach Officers of Waltair Division and Senior Officials of East Coast Railway.

Consequent upon the derailment of the passenger train, 58501 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger train will be short terminated at Jagdalpur on 09.08.2018 and the train No. 58502 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam passenger rescheduled to leave Kirandul at 9.00hrs instead of its scheduled departure at 06.15hrs.
Track fit given at 12.15hrs and train services resumed by 13hrs.
