Khana Jn. (KAN): Tribals today blocked the Howrah.- Burdwan main line section railway tracks for two hours causing inconvenience by disrupting the regular railway services. They protested against the killing of their fellow men in Assam by holding a blockade at the Khanan station.  Many local trains and long route trains were held up at various stations creating problems for the daily commuters and long route passengers. Ram Chandra Murmur, the spokesperson of the tribal group said they were protesting against the killing of their brothers and sisters in Assam ruthlessly by the terrorists as well as in the cross fire by the defense personnel.  We demanded the intervention of the centre and state government to resolve this problem immediately. The protesting tribals also brunt the effigy of the Assam Chief Minister Mr. Tarun Gogoi. The tribals lifted the road block after they received assurance from the Eastern railway higher authorities to convey their demand to the concerned authorities.
