The type of explosive used in the blast it is yet to be diagnosed
DHANBAD: Panic and chaos ensued after two blasts took place late on Sunday night in Hazaribagh railway station of Jharkhand. The station where the blast occurred, falls on the railway line which goes to Kolkata from Delhi via Gaya and Dhanbad. On Sunday night two blasts were heard from the railway station, following which chaos erupted in the nearby areas. A boy lost his right hand in the blast and is being treated in a hospital in Dhanbad.
However, the type of explosive used in the blast it is yet to be diagnosed. According to an eyewitness, the explosive which caused the blast was in a bag which was lying on the station. The police has launched an investigating into the matter.
On 7th December 2016, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in the presence of Chief Minister Raghubar Das opened the 57 km long Hazaribagh-Barkakhana section for passenger trains. With the launch of Hazaribagh-Barkakhana section, now the 137 km section of Koderma-Hazaribagh-Ranchi rail project is functional now and passenger trains are plying currently on this stretch, apart from various other long distance trains passing through this section. Once the 66 km long Barkakana-Ranchi section is also completed (which is expected to complete by end of 2017), the route gains more importance and Hazaribagh Town Railway Station will be connected with Ranchi via. Barkakana.
Amid Security concerns in the maoist hit Ramgarh district the project has been provided with 24-hour security. Also a railway coal siding line is under construction from Hazaribagh Town to Bandag.
