Railway officials had a tough time on Sunday as two train mishaps occurred near Ranchi. First, the Rourkela – Muri – Jammu Tavi Express collided with a Tata 407 bus at a level crossing at Chintitoli between Hatia and Blahsiring Railway Stations in the afternoon. Driver and assistant driver of the train sustained serious injuries along with the bus driver. They were rushed to a railway hospital at Hatia.
In the accident the bus was severely daunted but no casualty has been reported to any commuters of the bus, said a railway official.
In another incident, fire erupted in the engine of a freight train standing at platform Number 2 of Ranchi railway Station in the evening. According to Ranchi railway station official fire erupted due to short circuit.
Fire brigade was rushed in promptly. Train services remained disturbed till the fire was subdued. Rajdhani Express and Lohardagga-bound train had to wait for some time due to the fire.
