Bangalore (SBC): Housing Minister M H Ambareesh on Saturday urged Union Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to provide adequate and uniform compensation to those whose lands have been acquired for Bangalore-Mysore railway line doubling project.
In a four-page memorandum submitted to Gowda, he said there was disparity in giving compensation to the land losers under the project.
While the farmers near Chennapatna and Ramanagar are getting adequate compensation, those in Mandya and Pandavapura are getting less, he added.
The Housing Minister, who is also incharge minister for Mandya district, suggested that the Railways should conduct adalats so that it can settle minor disputes related to land acquisition on the spot. It will also ensure speedy acquisition, he said.
