कोलकाता Kolkata (KOAA): Western Railway and South Eastern Railway have emerged men`s and women`s champions respectively in the 62nd All India Railways table tennis Championship in Guwahati recently.
Pravakaran of Southern Railway and Tekeme Sarkar of Northeast Frontier Railway won the individual men`s and women`s titles respectively.
Pravakaran defeated Anirban Nandi of South Eastern Railway 4-2, while Tekeme beat Rupsha Bhattacharya of Metro Railway 4-3 in their summit clashes.
South Eastern Railway women`s team of Anindita Chakraborty, Medha Moitra, Pallabi Kundu, Saptaparni Guha and Gargi Nag won all the five matches en route to the title.
The SER eves defeated Western Railway 3-1, runners-up Central Railway 3-1, Metro Railway 3-0, Northeast Frontier Railway 3-0 and Eastern Railway 3-0.
In the men`s team event, Western Railway edged out Southern Railway for the title while SER had to settle for the third place.
